By now the Christmas tree has gone (hopefully), and the New Year is underway.
If your life is anything like mine, this first week of the month has been busy!
Here are some tips to help put your best face forward on less than a full night’s rest…
You don’t have to use cucumbers
although a quick 10-15 minutes with some teabags on your lids will do wonders! Make yourself a cup ‘o tea and then use the bags on your eyes when you’re done. If you don’t have that kind of time you can opt for some beauty quick fix faves like the ROC Complete Eye Lift Pen, or BeneFit Cosmetics Oh La Lift.
Dab (and blend) some concealer under your eyes, and on any imperfections you’d like to camouflage. Be sure to set with powder. If you haven’t found your pefect concealer yet you might try one of these: Clinique Advanced Concealer, L’Oreal Visible Lift Concealer, or BeneFit Boi-ing Concealer.
Plump up your lashes to open up your eyes and hide any hint of tiredness. My current favorite mascara is FRESH Cosmetics Supernova, I can’t stop blabbing about it. It defines my lashes beautifully & I really only need one application to last all day. It’s totally a must-have. (get a sample from Sephora if you don’t believe me…you’ll be hooked.)
White eyeliner on the inner, lower part of your lash line is a classic trick to brighten the eyes. If pure white makes isn’t your thing, try a pale pink, cream/ivory, or even silver.
5.
Add some multitasking color.
Multitasking products are always great to have. I definitely recommend a lip/cheek color palette be in your 5-minute face routine! Adding a little color to your lips and cheeks will bring out a youthful look and glow. It’s the perfect way to bring it all together. You can try a variety of products from liquid stains to cream color and see what’s best for you. Some fun ones include: Josie Maran Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain, BeneFit Cosmetics BeneTint, and now through January 19th you can win Jing Ai Cosmetics Old Time Glamour Lip & Cheek Tint right here!
If all else fails…
‘Go Smokey’
Doing a ‘smokey eye’ is a quick and easy way to camouflage your tired eyes. Stay subtle with the dark brown on the top lid, and smudge some just below your lower lash line. It’s a sneaky way to cover up dark circles under your eyes and it also makes for a smokin’ hot smokey eye!
Do you have a 5-minute face routine? What do you do to fake a good night’s sleep?
….big sunglasses and a ponytail works for me too on some days…
